‘Going From Week to Week,’ Cuomo Warns of Vaccine Supply

A limited supply of available vaccine doses has affected New York’s Covid-19 vaccination efforts, with Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo saying the state will temporarily run out of vaccine in the next few days.

What’s clear now is we’re going to be going from week to week, and you will see a constant pattern of basically running out, waiting for the next week’s allocation, and then starting up again. We have so many distributors that we can’t supply them all, and you will see distributors who run out of supply. We want to make sure distributors don’t schedule any appointments for which they don’t have a definitive allocation. Because we don’t know what we’re going to get next week and we don’t know where we’re going to distribute it. Our distribution network is up and running. We’re just waiting on the supply. But we’re in a position that when we get the supply, we will be able to move the supply. And that’s the position we should be in. And I feel good about that.
